HOLDEM POKER
Thanks to TV, poker has spread across from the showdown games of the Wild West and the Cincinnati Kid on the silver screen to the nail-biting suspense of the final Texas Holdem Poker table at the World Series of Poker, watched live in living rooms around the world.
Now here is a sport that anyone can play, and anyone can win. For example Tony Jones who played a freeroll tournament, earned his seat in the final, and walked away with over $1m in the Ladbrokes Poker Million IV tournament in 2005. He no longer drives a forklift - he has retired! The stuff dreams are made of. Maybe your dream too?
Club Ivy Poker believes in helping our members reach their dream. There are no guarantees of retirement, but we do believe that with a little effort, a little training, a little patience and a little luck - you can make money playing holdem poker (for the ridiculous reader, please refer to the Club Ivy Poker Disclaimer).
SIT-AND-GO AND TOURNAMENT PLAY
There are essentially two ways of playing holdem poker: sit-and-go, and tournaments.

Tournament Play
When you are comfortable with playing online, you will probably want to start playing in tournaments. Again, you can play for free until you are comfortable with the procedures, then perhaps start with low-stakes games and build up according to your success rate.
The key difference between sit-and-go and tournament play is that the tournament has a fixed start,

fixed procedure and defined result - in short, once you have started playing, you are expected to play until you win or are knocked out.
